Abbey the cottage is close to the owner' garden, shops, bars and near a lovely shady park with tennis courts. As Pontlevoy is situated in the very heart of the château district, the cottage makes an ideal base for touring the chateaux country saving on petrol and you can discover most chateaux & parks within one hour's drive.
13km away, Chaumont is a beautiful chateau where the International Garden festival created by renowned landscaper architects on a specific theme takes pace every year from May till October.
In the village the 18th C. Abbey houses the famous classical Music Festival during the Summer season. The Street Museum with its 25 panels fixed on walls is an invitation to compare past and present village life (1902-1936) . For fin gourmets there are wine storerooms & a famous cheese-making farm.selling goat's cheese. A few miles away old quarries have been converted into 'caves' for growing mushrooms, storing thousands of wine bottles (Cabernet, Gamay, Sauvignon, Créman de Loire ( cheaper and as good as champagne) or housing exhibitions such as stone-carving in tufa,,silkworm and mulberry tree.

The cottage is very old, has exposed pegged beams and an original tiled floor upstairs.To reach the entrance there is a flight of steps with 3 steps. All windows are double glazed with electric-operated blinds to keep it cool in Summer. All rooms have a convector heater with a thermostat.
2 flexi-display books are provided: one with 14 ,itineraries maps & illustrations for preparing your outings and the other one with bi-lingual notes on the village, the area, a comprehensive vocabulary,inventory, English instructions for use of Equipment, utensils.
