A renovated stone cottage with pool, gardens and fabulous views.
The renovated stone cottage sleeps 4–5. It has two comfortable bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and a bathroom on the first floor. There is a shower room and toilet on the ground floor. The cottage can be entered from the front or rear terrace. It consists of an open-plan ground floor with large comfortable lounge area, with an old inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove. All rooms also have electric heating for those cooler evenings. The lounge has a digital satellite TV, DVD and video player. There is a telephone and WiFi internet connectivity. The dining area leads into the modern fully fitted kitchen which includes microwave, hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and coffee maker. A Bosch washing machine is provided in the cellar.
Situated on the edge of the small hamlet of Le Puech, the house catches the sun from sunrise at the front, to sunset at the rear. All around are magnificent views. There are several terraces with tables and chairs to enjoy either the sun or the shade. Each area has its own spectacular view; either by the house, in the private gardens, by the pool or sitting at the picnic table in the orchard. The rear garden has a barbecue. There is ample parking at the side of the house or in the garage off the front courtyard. There is a 10m x 5m swimming pool with Roman steps into the pool for easy access. The pool may be used at any time. It has an electrically operated safety cover so there is no ugly fencing to detract from the view. The water has a low chlorine purification system utilising salt electrolysis. Activities include tennis, walking, bird watching, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, mountain biking and horse riding. Two bicycles are available. There are lots of good restaurants in the area. We provide a welcome pack with bread, local cheeses, butter, fruit, milk, water, wine and beer.
Le Puech is a small hamlet situated on a promontory on a hill overlooking a sweeping valley. The hamlet itself is very small with only a few houses constantly occupied. Down the hill is the village of Banhars. You won't find any shops here; they can all be found in the charming market town of Entraygues, which is 4 km away. There are larger stores in Espalion, Rodez or Aurillac.
As well as the nearby towns there are many interesting sites to visit. Natural sites nearby include the charming Lot valley, Bes Bedine, views from Puy de Montabès, the Chateau de Valon, the Gorge de la Truyère and the waterfall "Saut du Chien". A little further away visits by car include the fascinating Trou de Bozouls, "Coulée de lave" at Roquelaure, the mountains of the Aubrac and Laguiole, and Conques. Further still, a trip to Rocamadour, la Couvertoirade and the recently constructed bridge at Millau all merit a visit.
Please note that animals are not allowed; and smoking is not permitted inside the cottage.
In 2013, the property was again awarded 3* status by the Aveyron Tourist Board.
