BREAD OVEN SLEEPS 2
In France during the 16th and 17th centuries, if the baker was not within shouting distance, it was usual to have an oven for baking bread at home. The alternative was to walk or ride to the nearest village or go without, unthinkable! This oven was usually attached to, or within, the house.
Many farms in The Lot had a separate building, as we have, which served a dual purpose. The sheep would also sleep in the adjoining bergerie.
Our Bergerie/Bread Oven is now a carefully restored cottage. It has a fitted oak kitchen/dining room where the original bread oven is now a charming feature. There are tiled work surfaces, split level oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dining table and chairs.
There is a large updated shower room with marble topped vanity unit, w.c., wash-hand basin and shaver point.
There is a sitting area with a sofa for comfortable reading.
2 acres of grounds with badminton, table tennis and boules.

2011 NEWS:
We’ve had a very good year, seeing lots of old friends and meeting new guests who, we hope, have really enjoyed our lovely part of SW France, plus the laughter and relaxation here at Mondounet.
The gardens looked splendid with many beautiful pots and hanging baskets.
Peter has taken several groups on wine tastings which proved very successful. An interesting and fun day out , visiting the vineyards and talking to the producers about their wine and how they make it special.
Ask about WINE TOURS
There were also the village fetes and musical concerts, plus the superb, colourful markets with really tasty produce; eating out at very good restaurants (so many to choose from at all prices); our poolside barbecues with Peter entertaining and we had some really good evenings relaxing with aperitifs and a glass (or two) of wine.
TASTE OUR GOOD CAHORS WINE AND ENJOY APERITIFS WITH US BESIDE THE POOL. We'll make 2012 a memorable year
