This is the one for Francophiles. A very spacious and well furnished town house close to the heart of this old market town. A comfortable base for relaxing in the sheltered garden or exploring the old town and surroundings.
Villedieu is famous for the Copper Trade which started at the time of the Crusades and has one of the remaining Bell Foundrys in France. A bustling town particularly on a Tuesday morning when the open air market takes over the centre. Excellent selection of shops in the main street as well as several cafes bars ideal for people watching. The nearest hypermarket is 1 Km up the main street.
Villedieu is an excellent centre being situated at the bottom of La Manche. and close to Brittany. A new fast road (A 84 between Rennes and Caen) takes you to Bayeux, Caen, the landing beaches, close to Mont St Michel and St Malo. All within an hour to an hour and a half drive. It is also possible to get the train from Villedieu direct to Paris for a day's shopping!! Beautiful wide sandy beaches around Granville which has one of the largest working fishing ports in France and a good selection of restaurants around the Old Port.
The house has a well fitted modern kitchen, Large dining room with French TV and music centre and a separate sitting room with English free to serve TV and good collection of videos.. Upstairs to a spacious double bedroom and slightly smaller twin. Bathroom with Bath and Shower head, wc. Outside is a sunny walled garden with BBQ and garden furniture. A very relaxing spot being so close to the town centre. The house is not suitable for very small children
The house is supplied with bedlinen and towels and there is no charge for electricity or gas
