Now in our 6th year of holiday lettings, final renovations are being made to this property and it will be available from June 2012.
We are in the commune of St Junien la Brégère, a tranquil village near Bourganeuf, in the Creuse - four hours from Paris, an hour from Limoges and just 20 minutes from the sandy beaches of Lac de Vassivière, with superb walking, fishing and swimming. Bicycles are also available.
Limoges airport/ A20 are 1 hour away, Paris 4 hours, and Bourganeuf and Peyrat le Chateau about 5 miles. Long term lets available. So get away from it all in the rolling Limousin countryside.
Most of our existing clients are single people and couples, so our rates are based on the occupancy of one bedroom. If there are more in your party, use of the second bedroom costs €35 per week. Prices include bedlinen, towels and tea towels.
Payment can be made by direct bank transfer or cheque in euros or pounds.
About the cottages
Built approximately 200 years ago, our detached stone cottages have been sensitively renovated and retain many of their original features, combining traditional French living with modern comforts. No. 6 Montayaud
Set on two floors, No. 6 opens into a spacious living and dining area. Once furnished, the cottage will have a fully-fitted kitchen, dining table and easy chairs. There will be UK TV and radio channels.
Upstairs are two double bedrooms, one to the front and one to the back.
The brand new shower room with WC and washbasin is next door.
There is a south-west facing garden to the front of the property, overlooking open fields.
Guests can also use a larger garden two minutes from the cottage. Off-road parking is available to the front of the property.
The area
Limousin remains one of France’s best-kept secrets. It’s ideal for walking, fishing, water sports, bird-watching, cycling or simply relaxing. Lac de Vassivière is about 20 minutes away by car and the smaller lakes of St Hélène and Bujaleuf are also nearby. There is a golf course in Bourganeuf, and a tennis court in St Junien la Brégère.
For shopping, Bourganeuf and Peyrat-le-Chateau are both about five miles away, with cafés, restaurants, banks and post offices.
Getting there
Limoges Airport, about an hour away, has direct flights from several UK locations. The journey takes around six hours from Caen and around eight hours from Channel ports.
Rates, terms and conditions
To secure your holiday, a deposit of €80 is required when booking, with the balance due six weeks before your stay. Electricity is charged in addition to the stated prices. All linen and towels are provided.
We accept both cheques and bank transfers.
