Maison Caramel is a lovely former farmhouse in a quaint alpine village in the ski resort of Paradiski, in the Northern French Alps. Enjoy the boutique hotel style decor, delicious meals, ensuite rooms with balconies, lovely mountain views and lots of excellent walks, hikes and cycling routes from the door.
The farmhouse is ideal for relaxing short breaks and active mountain holidays - whether walking, cycling or skiing. Located in the pretty alpine village of Landry, on the edge of the Vanoise National Park, the farmhouse is also close to the ski lifts in Paradiski (La Plagne & Les Arcs), open summer and winter. We provide a courtesy mini-bus service in winter for catered guests, and there’s a free village shuttle bus too.
The farmhouse is also a great base or stopover for those touring the Alps on foot, by bike or car. Situated on the hillside below Landry’s baroque village church, the farmhouse is just opposite the GR5 long distance footpath and only 7km from Bourg St Maurice and the famous Route des Grandes Alpes (an epic trail through the Alps for motorists, bikers and cyclists).
Maison Caramel has 5 en-suite bedrooms in the main house and 4 more in the luxury penthouse (accessed via outside steps). The rooms have a simple French country feel and most have a balcony or terrace access and lovely mountain or river views. Old wood, antique furniture and contemporary pieces mixed with vintage finds give the house and rooms lots of character.
Delicious home cooked meals, made with organic and local produce according to the season, are served in the dining room or out on the terraces in good weather (advance booking required).
Maison Caramel has a lovely guest sitting room with log stove, a sunny garden with a wooden deck and lawn area, and there are some beautiful walks through meadows and forest leading straight from the door. We’re also just 1km from a wonderful 15km riverside footpath and cycle route along the River Isere. There’s an excellent white water rafting base in the village (H20), and cyclists will find themselves in easy reach of some famous Tour de France col climbs, including the Col de Petit St Bernard, the Cormet de Roseland and, further afield, the Col d’Iseran.
Run by the owners, Alvaro and Samantha, we are on hand to take the hassle out of your holiday – advising on walking routes; preparing evening meals; arranging lift passes, childcare or massages, providing transfers and anything else you might need.
