Built in the early 1800’s, ‘Le Puit’ is a part of a traditional French farmstead carefully and stunningly converted to include the original oak beams and attractive features of its origin. It is built around a large courtyard typical of the region and the extensive gardens and grounds include a large swimming pool and permanently heated Jacuzzi. This attractive Gite consists of a split level living room with pull out sofa bed, a large open plan kitchen/dining area, a mezzanine bedroom with 2 single beds and a large bathroom with shower.
The stone buildings of this farmstead with their tiled roofs are set in private gardens accessed by a quiet lane and surrounded by rolling arable land with lovely walks and cycle tracks nearby.
This area is perhaps the most characteristically French of all the regions with its chateaux, rolling vineyards and meandering rivers. The stunning abbey at Fontevraud is only a pleasant 30 minutes drive away. For more up-to-date family entertainment, France’s famous ‘Futuroscope’ is about 25km away. Les Coindries is just a few minutes drive from the beautifully preserved medieval village of Faye-La-Vineuse with its 11th century church, general store, boulangerie and fabulous bar/restaurant. It is 11km south of Richelieu. famous for it’s Cardinal of the same name and a further 15 minutes drive takes you to the lovely town of Chinon with it's stunning newly renovated 'fortress', canoe and cycling excursions and numerous vineyards. Tours is about 1 hr away to the north, with Poitiers 35 minutes to the south.
If booked in conjunction with any of our other properties at les Coindries there is a 5% discount applied to any 2 properties, a 7.5% discount for any 3 and a 10% discount if all 4 properties are booked giving site exclusivity. Les Coindries can accommodate 18-22 people comfortably.
