A large detached 3 bedroom farmhouse to sleep 6 with a large garden.

Our French house is an old wine maker's stone built house that has recently been enlarged and renovated. On the first floor, 3 double bedrooms, one of which has a vaulted ceiling. An upstairs corridor gives views through the French windows over the garden and vineyards. All the 3 bedrooms have different traditional French themes. They are all fully equiped with drawer and wardrobe space together with bedding for summer and winter use.
Bedroom 1 is a dual aspect room where you may be able to see the Pyrenees. It is traditional with mahogany furniture and rug. Bedroom 2 is a cool room in summer with a view over the front garden which you can look out on from the french style sofa. Bedroom 3 looks over the rear garden and vineyards. This bedroom has a vaulted ceiling and one wall has been left in stone. All the bedrooms are heated in winter by the oil fired central heating system.
There is a fully equiped large bathroom with shower, bath and bidet. On the ground floor, the traditional French kitchen is fully equiped for 6 people around the table and has a built in electric cooker & hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. The more formal dining room is able to seat 6 people in comfort. There is a utility room with a toilet, oil fired boiler for the central heating, a washing machine, clothes drier and and a fridge freezer. The main room of the house is the old chai which has been converted into a large sitting room able to seat 10 people in comfort. In the winter the room is kept warm and cosy by a log burning stove in a traditional fireplace and during the warm months the sun floods into the room.
Our comfortable French house is set in the midst of the tranquil Armagnac vineyards, fields of sunflowers and rolling hills. On a clear day the Pyrenees mountains can be seen from the garden. It is an ideal location to visit the nearby bastide towns and villages, particularly Larresingle and the Roman Villa at Seviac. There are a number of the resting places to visit on the pilgrimage route to Compostela, the nearest being just a few kilometres at the Abbey de Flaran. The nearby spectacular Chateau de Cassaigne is full of history and of course you can sample and buy the wonderful Armagnac. The nearby river Baise has boat trips form the lovely town of Condom, where you can spot kingfishers and spend the day on the river.
Autumn is also a beautiful time of the year to stay in Ampeils, the colours of the trees and vines are spectacular.
Different changeover days can be discussed, as well as shorter or extended stays, we are very flexible with dates. Payment can be made by cheque, paypal or bank transfer.
The house is equiped with a telephone and ADSL broadband connection. The television has the usual French channels and we also have English channels by satelite.
