Orchard Cottage is the owners' home and is available to let when the owners are not in residence,so is available for most of the year.
It is a beautifully-renovated cider barn,equipped and furnished to a very high standard. Because it is our own home it is better equipped and furnished than the average gite.
It has a very large kitchen-diner,with fridge,freezer,electric oven,dishwasher,and microwave.
There is an entrance hall,with a downstairs toilet, and a separate utility room,which contains the washing machine.There is a large,oak-floored lounge,which has an open fire,and two large,comfortable sofas,and with access to the patio.It also has sat TV,dvd player,and CD player/radio.
Upstairs there are two large double bedrooms,one en suite,and a separate bathroom.Two folding singles and a cot are available.
Orchard has its own patio,with a Weber barbecue and Lafuna loungers,and has a beautiful outside covered dining area. It has its own separate,large garden.
The cottage also provides accommodation and the dining area for the owners' art courses. We run these on a full-board basis for painters and their partners,on a separate pricing regime. Do enquire if you are interested.
Having ourselves stayed in houses and gites with blunt knives,an odd assortment of kitchen equipment and lumpy beds,we have made every effort to make all three properties as comfortable,welcoming,relaxing, and inviting as we possibly could.Surroundings are particularly important to us,and to this end the house has an array of Hilary's paintings and an abundance of books and DVDs,or what one visitor has called our 'world cinema'!
Because of the frequent visits of our young grandchildren Orchard Cottage is particularly child-friendly and makes a perfect family holiday home.
The village of Sartilly is 3.5 km away,for all day-to-day needs - supermarket,boulangeries,doctor,pharmacist,and vet (when necessary). Granville,with its port,seafood restaurants,shopping,and boats to the Iles de Chausey and Jersey (practise your English and spend your sterling!),is 15 mins away. Further afield are Le Mont St Michel (40 mins),Bayeux, and the D-Day beaches.
North of Granville there are many more sandy beaches,oyster and mussel beds,and places to eat their products!
