General description
La Maison Roux is a traditional stone-built farmhouse situated in the tranquil hamlet of Préglomard,
on the edge of the Sioule gorges just to the northwest of Clermont Ferrand in central France. The area boasts exceptional views, an abundance of wildlife, and a wide range of outdoor activities, from walking, cycling, swimming, canoeing, horseriding and treetop adventure trails, to exploring ancient chateaux, volcanoes and elegant spa towns such as Vichy.
Accommodation details
La Maison Roux sleeps six people, in two double rooms and one twin. A infant travel cot is also available free of charge. On the ground floor, the accommodation offers a spacious living room with beamed ceiling, original fireplace complete with bread oven, TV and DVD player, and telephone if required; a kitchen with cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, and a bathroom with shower, WC and washbasin. The three bedrooms are located on the first floor, along with a toilet and washbasin.
All rooms have electric heating, and the living room also has a log burner for chilly evenings. Outside, there are informal gardens and a sunny courtyard, with patio furniture and a barbecue.
Adjacent to the house is a converted barn which can be used to accommodate an extra four people, with one double room and one twin.
Both the house and the barn are well stocked with books and games, as well as local maps and tourist information. There is a selection of mountain bikes available to hire, including helmets for children.
