At 750 metres in the beautiful wooded mountains of the Livradois Forez national park, La Maison de Reflexion stands alone, is not overlooked and provides comfortable 3-star accommodation consisting of one double and one twin-bedded room, a spacious lounge/diner, a well-equipped American-style kitchen and a good-sized shower room all of which have been decorated, fitted and furnished to a high standard.
Here in our typical Auvergnate village, the welcome is warm, the air is clear, the water from local springs and the area rich in flora, fauna and birdlife. It is an ideal haven for relaxing, walking,"getting away from it all" and recharging your batteries - a perfect place for a "slow" holiday in this beautiful and unspoiled area of France.
Our commune is 25kms across, has an area of over 11000 acres, 57 hamlets, a population of 6 people per square kilometre, varies in altitude from 250 to 1232 metres and is criss-crossed by 300 kilometres of pathways - a walkers' and birdwatchers' paradise!
And if you prefer more organised activities, there are water sports, an outdoor heated swimming pool, pedalos, mini-golf and tennis and squash courts available for hire around the lake at nearby St Rémy sur Durolle (11 kms) as well as restaurants and cafes. The town itself has a selection of essential shops, bars and cafes and boasts a small "very French" Sunday morning market.
There are no hidden costs. Our prices include:

wish to find it.

And if during your stay you don't want to cook for yourself or go out to a restaurant, we are happy to cater for you. Once we have agreed the menu and the number of courses you would like, you can dine with us, or enjoy the meal in the gite.
