Set at the edge of a typical French Village surrounded by vineyards yet close to Medieval Carcassonne. Each gite is fully equipped and offers accommodation for 4 people with a double and twin bedroom. (Cot available) Fully fitted kitchen area, lounge, dining area and both gites have their own patio, BBQ and outdoor furniture. The pool is 10m by 5m with tiled and decking surround offering great far reaching views towards the mountains in the distance. At the front of the property you can sit and watch the boats sail by through the lock along the canal.

Olive Tree cottage faces south overlooking the garden and is a very sheltered spot to sit and soak up the sun to recharge your batteries.
Double and twin bedroom. Cot can be provided if requested along with a high chair and changing mat. Shower unit. Open plan lounge / dining area. Well equipped kitchen. TV, DVD/CD player. HiFi. WiFi included. ipod / iphone docking station.
2 acre garden to explore. Off road parking under the fruit trees. Large 10 metre x 5 metre heated swimming pool. There is a restaurant / bar within 150 metres with a great outside dining area and childrens section in the garden if you don't feel like cooking or just want a drink.. The village also offers fresh bread daily and another bar. Boules (Petanque) is played under the shade of the plane trees alongside the canal outside the village hall.
The area offers a wealth of interesting things to do. Plenty of villages nearby to explore and try the local cuisine. Carcassonne has the old part called La Cite which is the medieval section where you can walk around the old fortifications. It's packed with restaurants and bars and gift shops. Each summer it comes alive when Carcassonne has it's annual music festival. Concerts both free and paying are held along the streets and in the open air arena. July 14th is Bastille Day when you can watch the spectacular fireworks.
Plenty of shopping in Carcassonne town (only 20 minutes drive) and lots of chocolatiers to tempt you.
The Mediteranean Sea is only 40 minutes away and we are only 1 hours drive from the border with Spain so nipping over for a Tapas lunch is easy !
Wild flamingos live in the "Etangs" or salt lakes alongside the mediteranean sea.
Don't forget to sample plenty of the local inexpensive wines as this is a region full of vines. Try the Blanquette de Limoux which is a sparkling white wine thought to have been the pre-runner to Champagne but sold at a fraction of the price.
