Romantic gite in quiet, rural location of the Gers

L'Herisson, perfect for a couple or small family, is the smaller of the 2 gites located at Le Vieux Presbytere situated on the edge of a small hamlet between Eauze, Condom and Vic-Fezensac. Both gites have a contemporary feel, are fully equipped with open plan living area and bedrooms on mezzanine level with west facing balconies and views over pretty countryside. L'Herisson has one pretty double bedroom with balcony on the mezzanine level and, on the ground floor, a sofa bed which can sleep 2 with shower room. The area is wonderful for walking, cycling and painting and the gardens and saltwater pool make this the perfect retreat. Gascony has great historical interest and there are many beautifully preserved old villages and chateaux to visit together with some super vineyards for tasting. This is the heart of Armagnac country with some award winning red Madiran wines and up and coming light white wines. Together with the foie gras, this diet is reputed to fortify the locals into old age! One of the best local markets is on a Thursday morning 5kms away in Eauze which also has a good selection of shops and restaurants plus banks, pharmacies and that all important coiffeur! We are happy to cook dinner for you, served to you in your gite or in the garden, wherever you choose; especially popular on arrival or after a long day out.
