Exceptional newly refurbished cottage in a scenic, rural setting to sleep 2/4.
Kerral is a charming Breton stone cottage of traditional build with a brand new interior. Ideal for couples or small families, it sleeps up to four and is perfect for relaxing holidays in peaceful surroundings - away from the crowds yet with all amenities close at hand. We are sure you’ll love your stay in our cottage and we’ll make every effort to guarantee your perfect holiday.
Built in 1937 and completely refurbished to the highest standards in 2009, Kerral has a large, bright, well- equipped studio living space with kitchen, dining and lounge areas with a double sofa bed. A delightful double bedroom leads off with a separate shower room with washbasin and WC. The new kitchen area includes ceramic hob and oven, coffee maker, microwave, fridge and washing machine. There is UK satellite TV with DVD and a radio/CD/cassette player. Everywhere is very nicely presented and all in all, the cottage is a pleasure to be in. All accommodation is on the ground floor and the upper loft space is unoccupied. Fascinating Brittany is on your doorstep!
Outside there are extensive private gardens and a large lawn with excellent views over farmland and forests. There is a barbecue area with outdoor furniture provided for relaxing in the long warm summer months. The cottage is set about 50 metres from a quiet road and it is very safe for children to run around and play. A cot can be provided at a small extra cost. Quilts and pillows are provided and sheets, pillowcases and towels are available again at a small additional charge. The building is fully cleaned and prepared in time for your visit and our English-speaking neighbour is on hand to give you the keys and show you around.
With electric central heating throughout, the cottage is available all year round. It represents good value for money, especially in the winter months and off-season. Substantial discounts are available for longer lets out of season.
Kerral is about a kilometre from the pretty village of Ploerdut with food shops, restaurant, cafe, bars, post office, medical facilities and church. Walking, cycling, horse riding and golf are popular activities close by.
There is a large, scenic inland lake within ten minutes drive with a safe, sandy beach for swimming, sailing and boat hire with a cafe on the shoreline. The south coast with beautiful beaches is just 40 minutes away on quiet roads.
The nearest town is Guéméné sur Scorff. It has a supermarket with cheaper petrol, banks, plenty of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and a cinema showing English and French films. Further afield is the attractive city of Pontivy with all amenities including a fine open-air swimming pool.
Brittany itself is full of attractive historical and cultural sites and many are close at hand. Breton culture remains strong and fans of Celtic music, dance and folklore will find much to discover in the summer months. The sun shines for 2200 hours a year and even in winter, a sunny day is never far awa
