A pretty converted chestnut drier barn holiday cottage in the Cevennes foothills nr St Jean Du Gard and magnificent Cevennes National Park in Languedoc Roussillon France.

L'Elzet Gites is a Chateau-Style country house with the personality of a farmhouse.The Clede cottage faces away from the central courtyard of the property. There is a shared pool, but fabulous crystal clear aquamarine river swimming 3km from here. We have walks directly from here including our 6 acres of woodland and vistas and pet farm animals including our gorgeous donkeys. Most importantly LElzet offers warm bi-lingual English owner hospitality!

Nearby the village of St Etienne Vallee Francaise has tennis,horse riding, football. Shops: bakery, supermarket, butchers, post office and good bar-restaurant(s) with outside seating

St Etienne is on the famous Stephenson Trail (GR70), and there are other THRILLING WALKS in easy reach. SAINT JEAN DU GARD (11km) which also has a Cevenol museum; aquarium, colourful street markets, Tourist Centre, & Steam Train (Train Vapeur) to the Bambouzerie Park and historic lively Anduze. Nearby the Grotte de Trabuc caves are both unique & superb to visit

The magnificent CEVENNES NATIONAL PARK is a UNESCO protected BIOSPHERE deemed the most important in all of Europe - a fascinating region with mountains, deep gorges, crystal clear rivers, caves and a wealth of flora & fauna (some unique to this area), dinosaur footprints, a rich history and fascinating geology. There are lots of activities to choose from

Being on the border of both Gard and Lozere regions you can enjoy a diverse experience. The new ALES PLAGE is now open with long sandy beach and bars, volleyball, pedelo boats etc on the lovely riverside. Well worth a visit for shopping here too..

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
This cottage is cool in the Summer cosy in winter (3ft thick walls). Ground floor is open-plan living & dining, with wood burner stove for cosy evenings any season. The kitchen has cooker, dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave etc. There is a shared washing machine.

The first floor has a double bedroom with views. Bunk beds and matching single bed( sleep 3) through to pretty bathroom with bath & shower.

The Clede cottage backs onto the central courtyard, so its patio faces away from L'Elzet. It has Dining/garden furniture, BBQ and views overlooking the valley. You have full roam of L'Elzet grounds, parkland and woodlands.

We also have a menagerie of gorgeous donkeys, very tame goats and other pets.

There is opportunity to meet others who are staying in our gite(s) and many a laugh is to be had over good local wine, boules or shared BBQ's.
