L'Elzet Gites is loved by many returning visitors year after year. This region is a haven - beautiful, wild, rugged, characterful and exciting with a fascinating history.
Our local village community has shops, bar restaurant(s), tennis, Horse riding, river swimming,and fishing. There are local activities, festival weeks and thrilling walks on this section of the STEPHENSON TRAIL The RIVER SWIMMING is superb with cascade, beaches & fishing.
At Saint Jean du Gard you'll find the Tourist Centre, colourful markets, bars, restaurants, Cevenol museum, and STEAM TRAIN on scenic route via the famous Bambouzerie Park to Anduze; Cevennes day trips can be organised locally.
The Cevennes National Park, is the most valuable UNESCO protected Biosphere in all of Europe & includes preservation of nature and cuture within it. You'll find ancient villages, gorges, rivers, caves, a wealth of flora, fauna and birds for nature lovers.
On the border of both beautiful regions of Lozere & Gard there is a wonderful holiday to be had and more to see & do here than a holiday by the beach
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
The TOWER is on three floors:
Ground Floor open plan with kitchen, indoor table and chairs, comfy futon sofa bed; a spiral staircase leads to a first floor pretty, light double bedroom with French windows leading to a sheltered balcony with table & chairs and descending exterior staircase. On the 2nd floor is a huge romantic bathroom and large corner bath with integral seat and shower.
Exterior:
The large ground floor terrace has a wrought iron gazebo and umbrella for protection from the Mediterranean sun, dining furniture & BBQ. It is adjacent to the main garden that looks over the beautiful valley below.There is a shared private swimming pool.
All the Gites have their own corner of L'Elzet and can remain private, but it is great to have other company too. There is many a laugh to be had on get-together occasions if other visitors are staying.
We have a small menagerie of gorgeous donkeys and very tame pet farm animals.
