Comfortable 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house in tranquil lakeside setting

Set in woodland in a small hamlet on the banks of a beautiful 16 km long lake, this spacious and comfortable 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom property offers total relaxation and tranquility. A true fishermans paradise and a perfect base for exploring the locality and nearby coast and lovely beaches. Within walking distance to the village which has an excellent boulangerie/patisserie for morning croissants and a bar/tabac/small general store for basic groceries.

There are numerous excellent restaurants in the area and the largest weekly market in the region at St Hilaire du Harcouet a 15 minute drive. A km or so along the lake is a watersports complex with pedalos, windsurfers and boats etc. for hire and within a few minutes drive an outdoor water park. The immediate area is lovely for lakeside or country walks or further afield along the coast. There are lots of options for days out; Granville with it's lively fishing port, marina and daily ferry to Jersey, the famous Mt St Michel and across the brittany border beautiful Cancale on the accurately named Emerauld coast famous for it's oysters, the fortified walled town of St Malo, historic Dinan and the Belle Epoque classy seaside town of Dinard.

The split level house comprises a large L-shaped sitting/dining room with comfortable leather sofas arranged around an open fireplace for cozy cooler evenings. Three sets of French doors lead out onto a gravelled area directly overlooking the lake with table, chairs and a built in BBQ. The dining area has a large oak farmhouse table and the modern kitchen is fully equipped with a gas range cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee maker and toaster as well as generous supplies of crockery, glassware, pots and pans etc.

To the rear of the house is a double bedroom with a direct lake view and just along the hallway a bathroom with overbath shower , washbasin and wc.

Leading upstairs from the kitchen area is spiral staircase which may present difficulty for guests with restricted abilities, so please see photos which show this clearly. On the first floor is a landing with a sofa which makes a useful area for curling up with a book in peace or separate play area for children, two identical twin bedrooms, both overlooking the lake, a shower room with washbasin and wc and a second large double bedroom with en suite shower room, washbasin and washing machine. The double bedroom has a door out to a rustic treee shaded upper terrace with table and benches, wide steps lead thorugh the trees down to the lower terrace. The steps give the option to bring luggage to the upper floor from the outside rather than negotiating the spiral staircase.

The lakeside wooden jetty/pontoon is perfect for fishing or stretching out on a sunchair and the interior with a welcoming open fireplace and full gas central heating is comfortable all year round.
