A L'Ancienne Forge, is situated in the heart of the village on the circular Autour de Chateau, within walking distance of all amenities. This charming, yet spacious, old wine growers house which was an ancient forge in medieval times, has recently been fully restored and tastefully furnished in traditional style. the house features exposed stone walls and staircase, old beams and local traditional tiled floors, with a large private roof terrace that has wonderful panoramic views to the mountains.
LET US TAKE A CONDUCTED TOUR :-
Approach the house through the metal gates into the front court garden where there is space for one car parking, up the outside stairs onto the terrace, through the old wooden door into the attractive Hallway with exposed stone wall & archway to stairs. To the left is the large Sitting room with its traditional fireplace & french windows to the front terrace, this room is linked to the Dining room through a pair of french doors, which when opened provides a large imposing living space. French windows give access to a secluded rear terrace which has recently been enlarged . To the right we find the fully fitted Kitchen / breakfast room finished in traditonal Languedoc style with oven, hob, large frig/freezer & microwave with cupboard and shelves housing all your cooking pans and crockery requirments for daily eating and drinking. Walk down the hall and find the Utility room with fitted 7Kil. washing machine, next enter the attractive first double bedroom with fully fitted en suite bathroom. Back to the hall and there is the seperate WC. Then take the stone stairs to the open galleried landing with exposed roof timbers & attractive wooden stairs to the Mezzanine sitting area, or turn into the rustic stone & exposed beamed family bathroom. Next take the two stone steps to the Green twin bedroom with en suite shower room or the Grand Master double bedroom with stone wall, exposed roof timbers & rustic tiled floor. We now come back to the main landing area and behind the large curtain under the Mezzanine we find the useful additional double sleeping area. Now lets climb the wooden stairs to the Mezzanine sitting area and take a step into the spacious Summer Kitchen / Dining area with fitted cooker hob, microwave, sink & refrigerator, then step through either of the two pairs of french windows onto the southwest facing roof terrace & enjoy a glass of local wine with your barbeque meal, as you look towards the wonderful sunset as it goes down over the mountains.
LOCATION & USEFUL INFORMATION :-
The house is 5 minutes drive from the lively medival town of Pezenas, home of Moliere, with its period architecture & a great choice of restaurants, cafes, art galleries & a super Saturday market. It is only a 20 minute drive to some of the best sandy Mediterranean beaches & there is Golf at St. Thomas 12 minutes towards Beziers. The village holds many festivals in the summer.
