Villa St Felix is situated in the centre of this charming historic village.
Villa St Felix is situated in the charming historic village of Portiragnes, 5 kms from unspoilt sandy beaches and 2 minutes from the tree lined Canal du Midi. The village has a market (in season), small shops, restaurants, bars and local wine producers. The house was built in 2004 within the conservation area of the church of St Felix which is designated an historic monument. The house has three double bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 6. One double bedroom upstairs with balcony, en suite shower and WC. The balcony has a sitting area where you can look over the roof-tops to the Canal du Midi . Two twin-bedded rooms downstairs. There is a third bed in the larger of the two downstairs bedrooms if needed for a group of 7. Bathroom and WC also on the ground floor. Large open plan lounge, dining area and fully fitted kitchen. The garden has a large terrace with a separate dining area, BBQ and garden furniture. Table tennis and cycles for the energetic. Portiragnes is ideally situated for visiting the Languedoc National Park, Carcassonne, Montpellier and Spain. You can reach the Spanish border in just over an hour. There are many beautiful beaches and resorts within easy driving distance. Cap d'Agde is one of the larger resorts and has lovely beaches, a golf course and many restaurants surrounding the port. Beziers is the nearest town and every Friday the flower market in the Avenue Paul Riquet is a sight worth seeing. The Feria takes place in August in Beziers. The attractive historic town of Pezanas is close to Portiragnes and has plenty of entertainment and a lively market every Saturday. The Languedoc wine-growing area is the largest in the world and there are plenty of opportunities in the many Domaines to sample the local wines. In Marseillan, an attractive port, there are guided tours around the Noilly Prat cellars followed by a "degustation". However, before you venture further afield it is worth walking, or cycling, along the Canal du Midi which has UNESCO world heritage status. Alongside the Canal is the protected nature reserve with a vast array of bird life. Look out for the flamingos in flight. The Blue Flag beaches of Portiragnes Plage have kept their charm and natural beauty because of local restrictions on development but there are still restaurants, bars and shops in the squares around Portiragnes Plage.
