Many of our guests have expressed an interest in staying in our Chambre d’Hôte and being able to use it like a Gité – so we listened! We have now added a kitchen to this beautiful area and created a totally self contained house and it can now be booked as a holiday home for a maximum of 6 people and minimum of 3 nights or as rooms in the Chambre d’Hôte.

And, just to make your plans easier, we are totally flexible about which day you start and finish your holiday with us (subject to other bookings). This allows you to take advantage of cheaper travel and quieter roads avoiding a mad rush to arrive for your holiday on a Saturday especially in July and August.

The house has 3 lovely bedrooms each with its own en-suite facilities - shower, toilet and wash hand basin. There is also a toilet and cloakroom downstairs. There is a new kitchen, large living room with a dining table and settees, english television, a woodburner fire, patio and of course use of the swimming pool which is shared with our other Gités.

The swimming pool is always covered for warmth (solar heating), cleanliness and most importantly security. There are loungers and chairs around the pool and under the covered decking area and there is nothing nicer than a cold glass of wine after a dip in the water! The pool is shared with our other Gite but this leads to some fun afternoons and evenings! There is just under 5 acres of gardens and plenty of space for games and just sitting quietly with a book.

The house has UK television, a washing machine and free wifi is available. A cot and highchair is available for use and bed linen and electricity is included in the price. Please note we do not provide wood for the fire from 1 May to 1 October but at other times some wood is available.

The house is situated just outside the pretty town of St Hilaire du Harcouet on the edge of the village Les Loges Marchis and right on the edge of Brittany and Normandy. There is so much to do and see in the area and the beach is within about 40 minutes drive, not to mention the beautiful Mont St Michel and the medieval town of Fougeres. There are plenty of links on our website to help with your plans.

In St Hilaire there is a great choice of shops and supermarkets and on Wednesday morning there is a huge market selling just about everything including chickens, ducks, rabbits and the odd ferret! There is lovely local fruit, vegetables, fish and cheese and you cannot possibly leave the market without trying the saucisse galet (a large sausage wrapped in a pancake) or just a delicious crepe. There is a beautiful park in the town with a large lake and a crazy golf course (free to use if you borrow our golf clubs) and in the summer a childrens play area. There are also great restaurants and plenty to see and do.
