Our Argeles House is a modern air-conditioned 2 double bedroomed cottage with private parking in a superb location, close to Argeles Marina with its abundance of restaurants, cafes and shops. We are near to a huge range of amenities to suit all ages and tastes, for example: sports, history and heritage, walking, wine, art and culture, as well as lots of children's activities.
There is an Aquapark only 15 min drive away and an activity centre with Canyonning, funfair, go karting. For those with more artisitic tastes, the region was home to the Fauvists and the quality of light and colour is outstanding for anyone who wishes to try their hand at painting - or just appreciate the views painted by Matisse, Picasso and Derain amongst many others. The region also is the home to some urbulent history, Roman, Cathars and the legend of the Grail quests and you'll find beautiful architecture of monasteries and fortifications. You'll also find that the local wine is of excellent quality and sold directly from the producers at very reasonable prices.
From our house, you are only 300 metres walk from a beautiful, clean and safe beach (Blue Flag). In season a beach cafe serves drinks and snacks and rents out sunbeds by the day. Next to the cafe is a windsurfing school which rents boards and offers lessons. From the marina itself, you can get boat trips along the coast, go deep see fishing, or take scuba diving lessons. Children's play parks with inflatables and pools are positioned all along the beach at regular intervals.
Our well equipped modern accommodation includes: a fully fitted kitchen with fridge/freezer, cooker, microwave, washing machine, iron and board, coffee and tea making; spacious living room with large sofabed, TV and CD/DVD player, 6 place dining area; downstairs WC. Upstairs there 2 large double and twin bedrooms and WC/shower. We also provide a fold out camp bed and a travel cot for those with small children or babies. Outside we have a small patio garden/terrace with BBQ - perfect for outdoor dining. We do try to make our house a home from home and as good as it can be for our guests and furnishings and kitchen equipment are regularly replaced to keep it looking new. We are also assisted by a local agency who organise our key handovers and cleaning and are on hand to provide any assistance to our guests.
We have had our house in Argeles for nearly 9 years now and every time we go there we find something new to see or do. It's a beautiful area and we love it. We hope you will too.
