Les Petites Pierres,(Little Stones),is a charmingly renovated 18th century cottage furnished to a high standard throughout.It has a 'typically French' feel with original oak beams.The well-equipped kitchen contains the Gas Cooker,Fridge-Freezer,Microwave and Washing Machine.
The downstairs shower room +WC has a shaver point and heated towel rail.
The comfortable lounge/diner has a Woodburner for early/late season stays,a TV(freesat),Video/DVD player ,CD player and selection of DVDs, Books and Games.
The 2 upstairs bedrooms have original oak beams and views over the woods at the front.
With one double and one twin bedroom,the latter can accommodate an additional child with the provision of an extra small single bed.
There is a private patio with table and chairs at the front of the Gite,and a private garden across the chemin,with table,chairs and BBQ.An information pack contains suggestions for 'Days Out'.
Set in a glorious sheltered sun trap, the large shared Pool (9mx4.6 m -1.2m deep) is surrounded by an ample sun deck and is securely gated.There are loungers,chairs and parasols for relaxing and sunbathing after a refreshing dip.We also provide a paddling pool and some Pool toys.The tranquil setting is surrounded by woodland views.There are benches around the grounds to take in the lovely surroundings.At the top of the site,is our large well-equipped Games field where you can enjoy -Football, Table Tennis, Badminton and Boules.There is an abundance of local Wildlife- Buzzards,Woodpeckers ,Owls ,Lizards ,Frogs ,Red Squirrels and masses of Butterflies and Ladybirds.Grasshoppers and Crickets are a delightful addition to the soundscape.
There are many interesting walks right on our doorstep that we can recommend.
Spring/Autumn are also great times to visit our lovely valley.
Plenty of space for guests to be active and relax.
We are within an easy drive of two of the top theme parks,Futuroscope and Puy du Fou,The nearby Marais Poitevin is a fascinating area of meadows and marshlands- hire a boat and spend the day meandering through the picturesque waterways.There are beautiful beaches at Les Sables-d'Olonne and La Tranche.La Rochelle is a 'must-do',along with the Ile de Re's harbour,beaches and cycle tracks. Local 'plans d'eau' have lakes for swimming,man-made beaches,restaurants and water-based activities.Pescalis,Europe's premier fishing complex, is 10 minutes drive away,as are the 'Forest of Adventure' and Karting- VERY popular with our guests. Local Markets in the area are an excellent way to experience French life and food and there are many good restaurants nearby.Parthenay,Niort and Poitiers are vibrant cities rich in medieval history.Vouvant is a very pretty village with some lovely walks.
