2 bedroom cottage on estate sharing large pool and games room
Fleuret Cottage dates back to 1820, and is part of the hamlet of Fleuret. Completely renovated it incorporates traditional features such as the original bread oven and stone sink alcove with ‘œil de bœuf’, terracotta flooring, exposed beams and stonework. Nestled at the bottom of the property, it enjoys a completely private garden while benefiting from the beauty of the red sandstone buildings behind, landscaped grounds, meadows and woodlands. The breathtaking view of the medieval village of Curemonte on the opposite side of the valley adds to the uniqueness of this lovely home
The cottage is on two floors and accommodates up to 4 people.
The large salon features a terracotta floor, fireplace with wood-burning stove and beautifully exposed stonework. Well furnished for your comfort, you will find a large selection of books, games and information on the area, as well as satellite TV and DVD.
The kitchen is set in the original bread oven, and is fully equipped with gas hob, electric oven, fridge and dishwasher. French doors open onto the terrace and barbecue area.
The first floor consists of one double and one twin bedroom, sharing a bathroom with bath, overhead shower and toilet. The cottage has a private terrace and garden, with adjacent parking.
The huge 14 x 7 metre swimming pool is situated next to the barn, the upper floor of which has been converted into a large games room with table tennis, table football, pool table and a grand piano. This area is fenced so that young children cannot gain access unaccompanied. The pool and barn are situated well away from the cottage and shared with those staying in the house. A laundry room with two washing machines and a dryer is also available for the use of all our guests. The English owners live in the third house on the property, and are happy to help you with any queries you may have during your holiday. WIRELESS INTERNET CONNECTION AVAILABLE ON SITE.
We are situated just 3km from the medieval village of Curemonte, where there is a weekly market in the summer evenings. A short drie takes you to the villages of Beaulieu sur Dordogne (as it's name suggest on the Dotrdogne River), Collonges la Rouge, Turenne, Carennac and many other lovely locations. Canoeing on the river is a great way to spend the day, we also have bicycles for hire, and there are three golf courses within easy reach. A little further afield are the medieval towns of Rocamadour and Sarlat, the world famous caves at Lascaux and the Gouffre de Padirac.
