Nestling in enchanting Touraine countryside, in this idyllic location, between Chinon and St.Maure. Sample France and stay a while in L’Alouette – our pretty, traditional cottage with beamed ceilings and exposed tufa stone walls.
French doors lead out on to the private terrace with garden furniture and BBQ where you can eat ‘al fresco’ or just relax listening to the song of the skylark, from which L’Alouette takes it’s name.
Comfortably furnished, the lounge and dining area provide relaxation with practicality. L’Alouette’s fully fitted kitchen including fridge, cooker, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine ensures precious time is not spent on those everyday chores. Upstairs the tasteful accommodation includes one double and one twin bedroom with exposed beams and stonework and the bathroom with overhead shower and W.C. There are scenic views from both bedrooms at the front out across the pool to the local countryside and at the rear across the nearby wildfowl lake.

The secure heated pool has sun loungers and there is a covered area for a little shade. There is also a boule piste, play area and additional covered games area with table tennis and table football. Also plenty of secure parking is available
Within easy reach there are a variety of supermarkets and local markets at St Maure & Chinon, with an abundance of fresh local produce.
For those keen on cycling, walking or horse riding, there are many paths and routes through the forests to follow. , or simply stroll along the paths and trails of the Loire.
The Loire is noted for its mild mellow climate.The summer from May to October boasts temperatures of 30 degrees plus.
The Loire Valley is famed for its unique and dramatic Chateaux. From the quintessential Chenonceau steeped in history to the fairy tale Chateau of Usse said to have inspired Sleeping Beauty, to the fortress Chateaux of Langeais, Chinon and Amboise with its connections to Leonardo da Vinci.
For wine enthusiasts, the ‘Route des Vignobles Touraine-Val de Loire’ provides a fascinating insight into the region’s wine production.
There is a wide and varied range of restaurants on our doorstep. Their repertoire ranges from galettes to fresh delicious oysters and shellfish. Our local restaurants in Pouzay – Au Gardon Frit & Chez Andre – are both well known & recommended for their Fruit de Mer.
